Meridian Finance Group was organized in 1993 to help equipment manufacturers increase their export sales, primarily by arranging medium-term equipment financing for their customers in emerging foreign markets.
Our cross-border financing business soon expanded to include short-term trade credit facilities for foreign companies, enabling them to purchase all kinds of products and services from suppliers in the USA and other countries around the world.
In order to use export credit insurance and political risk insurance more effectively for our trade finance transactions, in 1994 we obtained our insurance license and shortly thereafter began brokering accounts receivable insurance for other companies.
Over the last fifteen years we’ve helped hundreds of U.S. and foreign companies protect their receivables against non-payment risks, expand their sales, increase market share, and arrange A/R financing using domestic and export credit insurance.
Our cross-border trade finance business has continued to evolve as well, with an emphasis on Latin America but also with transactions completed in the Pacific Rim, Eastern Europe, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and other emerging markets.
Meridian’s clients include large corporations, middle-market companies, and small businesses. We provide services to exporters, importers, and also companies who do business only in the USA, as well as banks, asset-based lenders, and other kinds of financial institutions.
Our diverse staff is multicultural and multilingual, with experience not only in trade finance and receivables insurance, but also exporting, importing, finance, credit, manufacturing, operations, logistics, and international distribution.
We pride ourselves on the service we provide to our customers. Our contributions to international trade have earned us nationwide recognition, including multiple “Broker of the Year” awards from the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. (Ex-Im Bank).
